The weather has been really good lately. The sun is up, the sky is clear and the temperature is nice and warm. For not wanting to waste this good weather by staying at home, my brother and I decided to go out and explore a new park around Vancouver. We spent a good half hour trying to decide where to go. We needed to pick somewhere closeby, hopefully less than half an hour away as we had a lunch date with our cousins. Iona beach was close enough and easy to get to (I left Jill, my GPS, in Redmond). It is very close to the Vancouver International airport. In fact, during the drive, we passed by some cars parked on the side of the road, their passengers standing outside with their cameras, probably waiting to get good shots of planes landing on the runway.
Iona Beach was at the end of a long winding road. We passed by many cyclists on the way, but very few cars.
There wasn't a lot to see. Just a huge space of nothingness...
And broken pieces of wood and fields of grass...
We also took a long walk on top of a gigantic sewer pipe. The Iona jetty stretches for around 2.5 miles. It is flat on top, making it excellent for cyclists or for people who are just there for a stroll. Apparently, you can also tour the Iona sewage plant and learn about how our wastes get flushed down the toilet and sent out to the ocean.

Love the photos, but i think I would prefer them a little bit bigger?

We've been doing brisk walks on the whole stretch of the jetty since going for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Nice to have something so close by yet feels so detached.
